A Beautiful Village set 550 feet above sea level, on The Ridge of The Chiltern Hill’s Buckinghamshire, England.
In 1971 Geoff moved in to a 17th Century Brick and Flint Cottlage.
Originally ‘ The Farm House’ the Beams inside came from The Sunken Armardor Ships. Some of which have the ‘curved shape’ of the hull still obvious. And the ceilings low, as the human was ‘shorter’ 300 years ago!! It also had the old Bread Oven and Rayburn Heater.
A popular walking area with many winding lanes and sweeping hills through the vibrant yellow fields of crops, to the Shady Arches of the Woods. Convienientley placed ‘Watering Holes’ The Three Horseshoes, Bennet End, and The Crown Inn in Radnage, can be found, ( sometimes not easily ) Jane and Tracy often gave directions to a weary thirsty walker.
Once you navigate youre way over sleeping dogs and muddy boots, to the cosy warm and friendly bar, filled with the “hum” of many walking, riding, and the latest Village News.
Geoffs love of The Village was Tangible most of his best works were done there. When he did have to leave for a short period, his health and demenour suffered. It was not a good time for him.
But he was able to continue…. The Sculpting, Entertaining, Dog Walking, Singing, Commentating and The Bow Tie Making. |
