Whilst in Windsor Geoff used to drive to Radnage Riding School for Lessons with Mrs Pat Smallwood at her Renowned Horse and Rider Training Facilitie,s in Radnage . Jane and Tracy learn… The Love of The Horse Too!! Sadly Geoff and Joan Separate in 1970.
1971 Geoff becomes self employed, sculpting Full Time. Joan continued to visit, regularly driving miles to ‘obscure’ cold show grounds, just of rub our hands and feet between rounds. (she never did take to The Horses) but walked miles with Jane Tracy and ‘The Dogs”
“We remember going with Dad to meet the perspective ‘Model’ and owner” Being in on the very first meeting. Photographing the Animal from ‘Every Angle’. On to the developing model, from basic armature, building shape and form, to every intricate detail. We used to sit for him and be his ‘hands holding the reins’ or help him make the hundreds of cobble stones in ‘ The Shire Horse’ model.
Although Geoff had already formed the basis of what he wanted to achieve. Radnage was The Catalist. The people that he met in ‘ The Village’ and surrounding villages became ‘True Friends." And with this support and Joan's he was able, (not always easily) to raise two children and produce some of the Finest Equestrian And Wildlife Sculpures of the Nineteenth Century.
