His Mother ‘Violet’ used to tell of him Carving Figure’s and Vehicles’s out of the large blocks of Salt his Father sold as a Storekeeper. He also made Lead Soldiers and held Very Detailed ‘Mock Battles’ with his Brothers.
A very competent Artist at an early age, hand drawing and painting many Birthday and Christmas cards for his Family and Friends. Sometimes…’ when he should have been studying’.. he was doing sketches of his Fellow Students and Tutor’s. A Promising Student’ at Harward, St. Marks and Sloane School he worked in Animal Laboratorie’s and Learned ‘ The Animal Anatomy’ First Hand. Afrer more Laboratory work for The Ministy of Agriculture and Fisheries, Newmore.
He was called up tor National Service. Joining the Royal Accadamy Medical College in 1946. He furthered his ‘ knowledge of anatomy moving on to Human Post Mortems.In 1950 He was a Dark Room Assistant for The ST. Thomas Hospital, where he learned invaluable techniques in photography.
Christmas 1950 Geoff met Joan at a Staff Dance at The Dorchester Hotel. London. After living in ‘Warseal Mansions’ Waltham Green sw6 London. They moved into Hayze Hill, Windsor, Berkshire. In 1961 Geoff built a Conservatory, just in time for their expanding family. Jane and Tracy. Whilst in Windsor and Slough Geoff worked as a Precision Tool Maker, Die Sinker, and Mould Maker. Skills which turn out to be very valuable, at a later date.
